How much time does one job give back?

Time the job as your team does it today, then time it with the agent, counting the minutes someone spends reading the draft and fixing it. If that second number is bigger, the answer is no.

Every formula is on the page. Nothing you type leaves this browser.

Showing example numbers. Example numbers are assumptions to replace, not measured results.

Result

224 hours a year released

The job takes 7 minutes less. That frees about 4.7 hours a week, or 224 hours a year, for other work.

Value of that time (not cash)
$8,960 a year

Released time is capacity, not cash. It turns into cash only if you spend less: less overtime, fewer temporary hours, an outside service you stop buying. Put only that part in Cost payback.

How it is worked out

  1. Minutes per job releasedminutes today − minutes with the agent12 − 5 = 7 min
  2. Hours a weekjobs per week × minutes per job released ÷ 6040 × 7 ÷ 60 = 4.67 h
  3. Hours a yearhours a week × working weeks per year4.67 × 48 = 224 h
  4. Value of that timehours a year × loaded hourly rate224 × $40 = $8,960

A negative result means the agent costs time. The review and correction minutes are part of “minutes with the agent”, so they are never left out.

What this leaves out

  • It gives planning numbers. They are not a quote, a forecast or a promise of results. We have not yet measured results for manufacturing clients.
  • Weeks are rarely even. The tool assumes the same jobs and minutes every working week. Real weeks vary.
  • Other effects are left out. Fewer errors, faster answers to customers and less stress on the person doing the job can matter, but they are not counted unless you can name the cash they save.

Bring your numbers to a fit call.

We will check them with you and say plainly if the job is not worth building.
